Choose meat packaging from product condition, pack presentation and handling. Manually loaded vacuum bags suit varied portions. Thermoforming suits a defined continuous format. Retail trays can use ordinary lidding, MAP or vacuum skin packaging, while stretch overwrapping serves a different tray presentation. Frozen pieces may need weighing and bagging.
Indicative budgets start at USD 3,000 to 15,000 for selected manually loaded vacuum sealing, and USD 30,000 to 120,000 for a thermoforming vacuum machine. Comwin matches product support, loading, sealing and optional downstream handling to your meat and pack.

Separate the meat condition from the tray or bag closure
| Packing route | Starting condition | Equipment and handling | When to change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meat vacuum bags | Varied portions in a suitable premade vacuum bag. | Manually portion and load, then chamber-vacuum and seal. | Bone protection, seal contamination and compression must be assessed. |
| Thermoforming vacuum packs | A repeated forming format and continuous packing task. | Form the bottom web, load meat, vacuum, seal the top web and cut. | Weigh the benefit against tooling changes and any manual portion-loading step. |
| Tray lidding, MAP or VSP | A retail tray with a defined display and packaging task. | Select ordinary lidding, a matched gas process, or a dedicated vacuum-skin configuration. | MAP and VSP use different material/process requirements; identify the selected one. |
| Tray stretch overwrapping | A loaded retail tray needs stretch-film wrapping. | Wrap the loaded tray and close the film beneath it. | For a required airtight barrier, assess a heat-sealed or vacuum structure. |
| Frozen-piece weighing and bagging | Frozen loose portions sold by net weight. | Match feed and weighing to clumps and frost, then fill and seal the chosen bag. | Bone ends, clumps or heavy seal contamination may require different support or feeding. |
MAP creates the agreed atmosphere inside a sealed package. Vacuum skin packaging draws a suitable top film closely over the product and seals it to the matched base. A stretch-overwrapped tray has another closure structure. Keep these finished packs distinct when comparing material, equipment and price.

Handling problems and the configuration response
| Задача | Likely mechanism to assess | Configuration and check |
|---|---|---|
| Meat juice reaches the seal | Loading or product clearance leaves liquid on the bag opening or tray rim. | Control loading and seal-area support, then trial the relevant contaminated condition. |
| Bone ends puncture the pack | A local sharp edge concentrates stress. | Assess suitable film, bone protection or tray support with handling checks. |
| Tray appearance is confused with barrier performance | Overwrap, lidding, MAP and VSP are grouped under one name. | Specify the actual closure and any gas or skin process. Pack appearance alone does not prove integrity. |
| The machine waits for portions | Portioning or loading was excluded from the automation plan. | List manual portion loading or select a matched loading step and interface. |
| Fresh and frozen products share untested settings | Moisture, clumps and temperature change handling. | Trial each intended product state and define the cleaning and handoff conditions. |
Match the route to your production situation
| Product and situation | Готовый набор | Starting equipment | Что влияет на выбор |
|---|---|---|---|
| A butcher packs varied beef portions in short runs. | Manually loaded vacuum bags. | Selected chamber vacuum sealing. | Assess bone ends and juice at the seal. |
| Repeated meat portions in a fixed format. | Thermoformed vacuum packs. | Thermoforming with defined loading. | Include mould changes and loading labour in the workload comparison. |
| Retail ground beef portions. | Heat-sealed or selected MAP trays. | Matched tray sealing. | Portioning and tray loading are separate scope items. |
| Prepared sausages in a defined quantity. | Suitable vacuum bags or thermoformed packs. | Select from the actual product and portion arrangement. | Sausage filling is upstream manufacturing. |
| Frozen boneless pieces sold by net weight. | Filled and sealed bags. | Matched weighing and bagging. | Check clumps, frost and seal-area contamination. |

Varied beef portions
For a small mixed order, start by loading suitable vacuum bags by hand. Test the most difficult bone end and the likely amount of juice at the seal. Specify any protection and bag-support steps before comparing chamber configurations.

Ground beef in a retail tray
The pack begins with portioning and placement into the tray. Choose ordinary lidding or a defined MAP task, match the tray and film, and keep the rim clear. Vacuum skin is another process choice with its own compatible base and top film.
Meat packaging machine price and scope
These October 2026 indicative budgets are for new equipment supplied from China, one defined product and one selected format. They are early planning ranges; a formal quotation follows the agreed configuration. Freight, tax, overseas installation, site work, upstream production, extra formats and unlisted gas generation or options are excluded. Commercial terms are agreed in the quotation.
| Перечень оборудования | Ориентировочный бюджет | Included scope | Separately specified |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manually loaded chamber vacuum sealing | USD 3,000 to 15,000 | Selected chamber-sealing scope for filled bags. | Cutting, weighing and bag loading. |
| Thermoforming vacuum machine | USD 30,000 to 120,000 | One forming and sealing format. | Automatic portioning/loading and downstream packing. |
| Ordinary semi-automatic tray lidding | USD 8,000 to 25,000 | Manual loaded-tray presentation and selected heat-seal tooling. | MAP, VSP and portioning/loading automation. |
| MAP tray-sealing combination | USD 20,000 to 65,000 | Selected tray/film, vacuum/gas and sealing scope. | Gas generation, meat portioning and fully automatic loading. |
| Vacuum-skin tray-sealing combination | USD 20,000 to 70,000 | Matched skin film, base and VSP operation. | A separate MAP configuration and automatic portioning/loading. |
| Tray stretch-overwrapping station | USD 6,000 to 20,000 | Wrapping loaded trays of the selected format. | Airtight/MAP processes and meat portioning. |
| Frozen-meat weighing and bagging combination | USD 25,000 to 75,000 | One selected bag route with matched feed, weighing and closure. | Freezing, cold room and cutting. |
An illustrative order of 1,200 acceptable 500 g trays requires 600 kg of packed meat per shift. Portioning, loading and sealing each need to support that same order. This calculation gives a workload, not a shelf-life or output guarantee.
Where automation helps the workload
Balance portioning and loading with the packing task. A faster sealing machine will still wait if no acceptable portions reach it.
| Размер | Manual or simpler arrangement | Added automation and decision |
|---|---|---|
| Схема производства | A butcher packs varied beef portions in short runs. | Balance portioning and loading with the packing task. A faster sealing machine will still wait if no acceptable portions reach it. |
| Operator steps | List presentation, product preparation, loading and collection for the actual route. | Automate the limiting step; replenishment, checking and collection remain explicit in the scope. |
| Переналадка и очистка | Fresh, frozen or cooked meat; portions, ground meat or sausages, temperature, bones and juice. Check the actual format mix. | Agree guides, tooling, contact-part changes and cleaning access for the product change. |
| Принятие | Control loading and seal-area support, then trial the relevant contaminated condition. | Measure acceptable finished packs, operator involvement, stop/restart behaviour and agreed rejection checks. |

Questions buyers ask before selecting equipment
Is MAP the same as vacuum skin packaging?
For MAP, specify the agreed gas task inside a sealed pack. For VSP, specify film contact around the product and a compatible base. Compare the actual processes and materials separately.
Can packaging replace refrigerated handling?
For chilled or frozen products, coordinate packaging with the required cold chain and product validation. The packer does not establish a universal storage temperature or shelf life.
Is a commercial meat wrapper airtight?
For stretch-overwrapped trays, assess their actual closure and the display task. If an airtight barrier is required, select and validate a suitable lidded tray or vacuum package.
Does a sausage packing machine make the sausage?
For prepared sausages, the packing machine handles the selected portion and wrapper or vacuum pack. Grinding and sausage filling are separate upstream tasks.
How should a bone-in product be packed?
For the actual bone shape, assess protection, film and support together, then inspect the pack after representative handling. Increasing vacuum alone does not address a sharp edge.
