Papad Packing Machine Price: Stacks, Trays and Fragile Sheets

For dried papad sold as a fixed stack, start with supported feeding into a horizontal flow wrapper. Add a shallow tray when thin edges need protection. For mixed small batches, careful manual loading into premade bags followed by heat sealing can be a practical starting point.

An indicative budget for a compatible, manually fed flow wrapper is USD 5,000 to 25,000. A tray-support and basic wrapping combination is USD 12,000 to 35,000. Automatic sheet separation and counting are separate operations; Comwin selects them from the actual papad and pack requirement.

Packing routeStarting conditionEquipment and handlingWhen to change
Papad stack flow wrappingRegular diameter; a stable stack prepared by an operator or matched feeder.Support the stack, guide it into the film tube, then make the longitudinal and end seals.Use a tray if unsupported edges chip or the stack moves at transfers.
Tray-supported flow wrappingLarge, thin sheets or a stack that needs edge protection.Place the stack in a shallow tray, then wrap the loaded tray.Allow for tray cost, pack size and changes to guides or forming parts.
Premade pouch loading and sealingVaried small orders where manual loading meets the workload.Count or weigh the stack, slide it into a suitable bag and heat-seal the opening.Move to automatic wrapping when repeated loading becomes the limiting step.

The conveyor should carry the stack without pushing hard against its edges. Seal timing and pack allowance must keep the product clear of the end jaws. An automatic feeder is useful only when it separates and presents the actual sheets reliably. A wrapper supplied with manual loading can still be the right machine for a demanding, fragile product.

Handling problems and the configuration response

Broken edgesDrops, a tight guide or pressure during transfer.Use continuous support, reduce the drop and adjust guide clearance. Compare incoming damage with damage after wrapping.
Correct count, variable weightSheet thickness and condition change the weight of a stack. If you sell by net weight, check weight separately from sheet count and define the permitted variation.
Pinholes in the filmDry edges press into an unsuitable film or a tight bag.Test pack allowance, film and tray support with the actual stack, including handling after packing.

A regular ten-sheet stack

In this planning example, an operator prepares ten sheets and places the stack on a supported infeed. The wrapper closes the film around it. Inspect the first transfer that introduces chips, then revise that transfer or add a tray. The ten-sheet count is an example, not a standard machine specification.

Thin sheets for longer distribution

Use the same papad in a shallow tray and check the pack after representative handling. The tray adds material and volume, but it gives the edges a defined support surface. Vacuum should be considered only after compression tests show that the product and pack can tolerate it.

Papad packing machine price and scope

These October 2026 indicative budgets are for new equipment supplied from China, one defined product and one selected format. They are early planning ranges; a formal quotation follows the agreed configuration. Freight, tax, overseas installation, site work, upstream production, extra formats and unlisted gas generation or options are excluded. Commercial terms are agreed in the quotation.

Manually fed flow wrapperUSD 5,000 to 25,000One selected stack format and wrapping machine.Automatic sheet separation, counting and tray loading.
Tray-support and basic wrapping combinationUSD 12,000 to 35,000Matched tray/stack handling, basic transfer and wrapping.Tray forming, automatic tray loading and weighing.

For an illustrative order of 2,400 ten-sheet packs per shift, the packing task is 24,000 acceptable sheets in 2,400 sealed packs. Verify count and net weight separately. Use the order to specify the trial workload.

Where automation helps the workload

Questions buyers ask before selecting equipment

Is vacuum packaging suitable for papad?

For brittle sheets, begin with support and film protection. If a vacuum pack is required, test compression, edge damage and seal integrity with representative papad before choosing that configuration.

Can a papad packing machine count the sheets?

If count is part of the pack specification, include manual counting or a matched separation and counting module. The flow wrapper alone does not establish the count.

Can several diameters use one wrapper?

For a defined range, we check diameter, stack height, tray dimensions and film path together. The proposal should identify adjustments and any replacement parts for each format.

Should I choose a pouch or a flow wrap?

For regular stacks and repeated orders, start with flow wrapping. For varied short batches, compare careful manual pouch loading against the actual labour and required pack presentation.

Send the product and finished pack for a matched proposal

Send product and finished-pack photos or samples, the required fill or count, and acceptable output per shift. We can then identify the starting configuration. For the detailed proposal, include:

  • Dried or cooked papad, diameter, thickness and representative fragile sheets.
  • Stack, tray or pouch; actual film or bag samples and all planned sizes.
  • Sheets per pack or target net weight, stack height and tolerances.
  • Seal format, barrier needs and handling that the finished pack must withstand.
  • Acceptable packs per shift, order mix, stacking method and available operators.
  • Infeed height, floor space, electricity and cleaning constraints.

We return the recommended operations and reasons, included equipment and options, product/material trial requirements and a quotation for the defined scope.

Comwin provides free sample testing and can arrange a visit to an actual factory to see equipment running. Whole-machine warranty is two years, with three years for core components and remote response within 24 hours.
